'I would probably be a homeless drug addict now.'
Only JW's think in such a manner. Get a grip or maybe you have a story behind that statement.
i have to post this question, because as i was trying so hard to talk to my husband about what i am learning and what others are saying, he is saying i am not doing this objectively at all, and only hearing things from bitter exjw's who are angry at the org for something.
i say this isn't true, i wasn't searching for answers due to a negative occurance in my life, and i don't believe everyone here was either.
he says i am only emotional about this, and trying to find reasons to prove all the things i have learned as wrong.

hi, be wise here going through a late wbts phase.. i've chosen for a long time to just ignore everything i was taught and turn my back on the whole jw thing for a long time now [this didn't help in the slightest].. it's only since i got on the web and got past that 'initial' fear of questioning things that i've started to mend.
i'm only just starting to look at what kind of society i've been indoctrinated by for most of my life and believe me it isn't good.
i've just been on randys website all night i haven't slept a wink but it was worth it.
Hi DJ, how do you get them links up by the way.

Hi, be wise here going through a late WBTS phase.
I've chosen for a long time to just ignore everything I was taught and turn my back on the whole JW thing for a long time now [this didn't help in the slightest].
It was an emotional rollercoaster but one that I could truely emphasize with [you know the invisible contol, the guilt, fear, the feeling somethings not quite right] and for all you JW's I have no axe to grind, just visit Randy TV and you will see and hear for yourselves. So-called apostates are not trying to question your faith, a lot of individuals who visit this site have a firm belief in God and the Bible. [still with me ...good] I can say one thing, everyone here is happier now they have left and can reason for themselves and understand the individual problems of others and live purposeful lives, we're all living proof of that. When you hear and see evidence of the WBTS from a neutral ground it hits you like a ton of bricks. Anyway, that's all I'm gonna babble on about the rest is up to you. LIVE IN FEAR OR FREE YOUR MIND.
i have to post this question, because as i was trying so hard to talk to my husband about what i am learning and what others are saying, he is saying i am not doing this objectively at all, and only hearing things from bitter exjw's who are angry at the org for something.

Can I just state the obvious and ask; Why are most people angry at the ORG for something. Answer - because they lie and decieve to cover up the truth, now is that love. Maybe they reason; well it's for the benefit of the brothers and keeping the organisation together, in other words for themselves.
He probably won't want to hear that, though. I would copy out the threads of newbies and people who have given very personal thoughts on the web, nobody with a heart could dispute these. Also, Randy's testimony on freeminds.com really bowls the point home to anyone who very into what the bible teaches and what the GB teaches and then changes and then teaches again but then changes...
here is the thread you need: http://www.randytv.com/laundermoney.htm.
watchtower admits, from the watchtower's treasurers office, to backing bush, and engaging in political, military, and government programs.
laundering money through their holocaust fund.
I'd like to make an apology to Randy for being too hasty in the things I said in this thread. I wasn't too wise as to the people involved in freeminds [namely, Randy] but I am now after checking the website out in more detail. Sorry again, I wouldn't have been so trivial with my comments.
I think the reason why you got the reaction you did promoting Randy's tape was because you built it up so much, got us thinking that their was undeniable proof of such activities, got our hopes that this organisation could fall and people could be freed of the lies and see the truth even through the cloud that they are lost in. Not to be, I suppose.
ok, we all get them in the mail, but here's one geared towards us that i just wrote up.
feel free to add to it, as i'd love for it to go around a bit ^_^ .
copy and paste this into your response box because i just wrote it and i figure whattheheck, this could be good!!!

i just read joannadandy's post about making things more positive on here... and so i decided to say something positive, so that you guys could smile about something, maybe.
i'm in love.
i've been in love with her for six months, now, almost to the day.
Can you get rid of my hangover ?
Up here for thinking, down there for dancing.
i have to say that at one time i wouldn't even consider reading material at a discussion group like this one.
but in the last two years, discussion groups like this one have been indispensable to my dealing with a very personal crisis of faith, and i want to thank the brave and loving persons who sponsor sites like this, and the brave and loving persons who participate in them.
like many here, i was raised as one of jehovah's witnesses and never questioned the validity of the wbts view.
Thankyou for such a genuine experience.
I think it goes to show how far out and how lost the JW's have become. Their religion is getting more like the pharasees all the time, getting lost in their own reasoning thinking this proves love for their God and forgetting what it should be all about [wow, where did that come from, Im talking about religion]. I'm not religious myself, anymore. Maybe I'm just lazy, or maybe I've just had enough of it with the experience of being a JW.
WELCOME TO THE BOARD
be wise

Me too. I didn't take too kindly to his watchtowery monotone voice either. It never worked for me before.
your baptism date is supposed to be the most important time of your life.
i was 9 years old when i took the plunge.
i remember my baptism, mostly because, i was baptized twice.
Sorry, can't really remember ...ahhh, the mind heals. I think I was 15 or 16. I've always had a bad memory. In retrospect it was a lot of fuss over nothing.
